Summary Metadata DESCRIPTION Satellite imagery was collected using the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection (ASTER) radiometer, built in Japan and operated jointly by Japanese and US personnel, one of several instruments carried aboard NASA's Terra satellite. Visible and near infrared (VNIR), short-wave infrared (SWIR) and thermal infrared (TIR) images are available and have 15, 30 and 90m pixels respectively. There is also an aft band 3 sensor which allows for the collection of same-orbit stereo pair imagery. SCALE Variable, depends on sensor. LOCATION Three adjacent 60x60 km scenes cover central through north central West Virginia and the southwest corner of Pennsylvania. ATTRIBUTE INFORMATION DATA SOURCE LINEAGE ASTER data were made available to the WV GIS Technical Center by Todd Schroeder, Remote Sensing Specialist, of the Canaan Valley Institute (CVI). CVI took delivery of the data from the EROS Data Center of the U.S. Geological Survey. The date of production is 21 September 2001. COORDINATE SYSTEM Raw sensor data, not georectified. FILE FORMAT ERDAS Imagine image (*.img). SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION On-line linkage: http://terra.nasa.gov/About/ASTER/about_aster.html
